Hello, my name is Alfie and I am a golden cocker spaniel.
I live in Hael Farm – next door to Hael Farm Cottage near Southgate on the beautiful Gower Peninsula. I love living here because there is so much space for me to run around in and it is lovely and secluded with no danger from traffic.
People tell me I am very handsome and I know that some girl dogs agree. I have included a photo of me so you can judge for yourself. I can also be a bit mischievous and often get told off for being naughty. The trouble is I’m not sure what is naughty and what is not,. I get treats when I stop being naughty, so I’ve worked out it pays to be naughty so I can stop and then I get a treat.
I am a very lucky dog to be living in a place with so many beautiful beaches, sand dunes for romping in, and cliffs with rabbits to chase. There are lots of pretty walks that I take my human family on and so many things to see and do.
I am going to tell you about some of my adventures , and although I am only 18 months old in dog years (nearly 11 in human years) I have plenty of stories to tell not just about my adventures but about what’s gone before.
Every morning around 6 o’clock I take my grandpa for a walk, either along the cliffs and down onto Pobbles beach or down the valley to Pwll Du beach. I love the mornings mainly because I get fed half my breakfast before we go and half when we get back. I have 2 grandpas, 2 grannies who both take me running with lots of other ladies, and my mama and dada. My mama loves me and talks to me in a silly voice so that I wag my tail from side to side and my bum wiggles.
Now I’ve introduced myself I’m off to chew a bone. Next time I’ll tell you about my adventures on the beach, on Pennard Golf Course, and up Ilston Valley.
