Rhossili is one of those iconic spots, a stunning walk, a glorious beach stretching across 3 miles, all the way to Llangennith, watersports, surf and somewhere to eat and shop. You may even be lucky enough to seen dolphins visiting too!
It’s therefore not surprising to learn that Rhossili Bay was named Wales’ Best Beach in 2018 and 3rd in the UK in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards – it has made the top 10 for the last 6 years. Described as ‘The supermodel of British beaches’ by The Independent, the nation’s favourite has also won accolades from UK Travel Writers and awards for being the best spot to have a picnic!
Animal lovers won’t be disappointed, the Times also nominated Rhossili as ‘The UK’s No.1 dog-friendly beach’. – although it is a steep climb down the steps to the beach.
At the end of the beach you will find the iconic landmark Worms Head; you’ll understand the name as you look across.
There are lots of things to do and see here, not least plenty of coastal walks along the Gower Coast Path.
There is a relatively flat walk from the car park towards the Coastwatch Centre, where you can enjoy views across the Bay and out towards Worm’s Head.
Parking (undergoing improvements https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/rhossili-and-south-gower-coast/features/car-park-improvements-at-rhossili), public transport and refreshments are all 400m from the bay.
When crossing over to Worm’s Head, please watch the tide and report to the Coastwatch Centre.
