Pwlldu Bay

Although Pwlldu literally translates as “Black Pool”, Pwlldu could not be further removed from the more well known contemporary holiday destination. Great for bird watching and getting away from the crowds. The bay is situated just a short walk from our Hael Farm Cottage, quiet and secluded even on the hottest day in the school holidays!

This beach can not be accessed by car, walking routes can be picked up from Southgate, the village of Bishopston or further along the coastal path from Caswell Bay. A small, mostly pebbled beach offers a welcome retreat for walkers and families who want to enjoy a dip in the sea. This beach also allows dogs all year round.

There are no facilities at the beach, so come prepared. There is also no RNLI presence, so swim safely with others.

The beach is also used by surfers when the weathers right, normally wet and stormy, just be aware of the rocks that lay underneath the surface.

The path leads West towards Hunts Bay and High Pennard. At the far side of Pennard is the footpath that leads to Pobbles.

Following the footpath to the East, towards Swansea will take you to Brandy Cove.
