Gower Beaches: Pobbles Bay

Pobbles Bay is handy for guests staying at Hael Farm Cottage, and as Alfie lives next door at Hael Farm, it is one of his favourite beaches.

Parking is in nearby Southgate, although it is within walking distance of the cottage (but not a short walk).

As beaches go, Pobbles is certainly pretty and when the tide is out, it offers a beautiful sandy cove, but even when the tide is in, if offers beautiful walks.

Pobbles is quite popular yet secluded, surrounded by limestone cliffs and sand dunes.  Alfie has a habit of climbing the cliffs, thankfully he gets up and down by himself!

The views are pretty spectacular and you can see all the way to Oxwich on a clear day, and it offers plenty of scope for exploring.

When the tide’s out, it’s a lovely sandy cove and you can walk the full expanse down to Oxwich Point, or East towards Three Cliffs and Tor Bay.

If the tide is in, paths can take you North through the dunes to Pennard Burrows and East over the cliffs to Hunts Bay and Pwlldu.
